Week 1 EOC: Best & Worst Job

The best job I have ever earned in my starting off career is what I am doing now. I am handling the marketing and event coordination for a luxury brokerage. It has been a great task of keeping me on my toes and making sure all of my creative energy is put to the test. I handle all of the marketing needs such as email blasts, marketing flyers, in house graphics, exposes, and anything else to help us gain notoriety. I enjoy everything from it and all of the ups and downs that comes along. When I coordinate events it makes me the happiest to do the chaotic work and everything that comes with it.

"Human resources–related challenges will continue to be a priority for most hospitality and tourism operators in the foreseeable future."

"Some human resources managers begin their careers in operating positions in a hospitality or tourism organization and then move into a specialized human resources position."

The worst job I have ever encountered would be at a fast food family restaurant  The job was supposed to greet and host the customers who walked in. I ended up running drinks, washing dishes, cleaning bathrooms, and everything that did not involve greeting the clients and being happy. This was not at all what was described ta orientation and the waiters attitude was even worse. The job had its ups and downs like everything. I tried to make the best out of the worse days but all the optimism in the world could not do it.

" Effective human relations procedures must be used to recruit and select staff members. However, human resources responsibilities extend beyond this and further than other stereotypical duties such as planning staff parties, approving employee vacations, and collecting paperwork when new employees are hired."

"Selecting the right people and using tactics to retain staff members are examples of ways to accomplish this goal."

I think there are some great jobs and some not so fitting. The journey is taking what you learn from all of these jobs and making sure they work best in your favor. That is the key to making it the best you've done.

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

Hello World,

My name is Autumn Myers and I am a fashion merchandising and management student. I have been attending classes for my degree at Art Institute of Las Vegas. It has been an exhilarting journey and a test of many trials. As I come to a close end of my four year degree I can say I am proud. I have become stronger than who I was when first attending. I learned my strengths and weakeness and embraced many new found talents. I am currently a blogger with 40k viewers. I started writing my blog citygirldesertdoll.com to voice my inside thoughts and showcase many great talents in the industry. I have dabbled in styling for fashion events. I even produced two of my own small fashion showcases.  I interned for a luxury brand & rubbed elbows with Forbes featured business owners. Fell in love with fashion jounralisim once more. I even became a marketing coordinator for an amazing brokerage. I can say I would never have became a fierce #girlboss if I didn't learn what and who I could be with the stress of school. My journey has just began however. The fashion industry is a tough one to conquer and I am excited to conquer it with high heels and spirits.
